In a statement released by the Tamil Nadu School Education Ministry, 81,000 students have applied for RTE admission so far, and the number of registrations this year has increased compared to last year.

In the RTE admission for the year 2025, 7717 schools have come forward.
81,927 students have come forward to join LKG courses in 7717 schools. RTE admission will be held on October 31st through a lottery. RTE admission will be held on October 30th for schools that have applied less than 25%.
Priority:-
In RTE admission, priority will be given to children from disadvantaged groups such as HIV-positive, transgender, sanitation workers, and differently-abled, School Education Secretary Chandramohan announced.
