Most people are using IRCTC website accounts to get train booking tickets. Passengers are facing a lot of trouble getting tatkal booking tickets due to fake IRCTC website accounts. Following this, about 2 1/2 crore fake IRCTC website accounts were closed by the Indian Railways.
Railway ticket booking with Aadhaar number through OTP :
The Railways has announced that from July 1, Tatkal booking tickets will be available only through OTP using Aadhaar number.
Linking Aadhar Number for Tatkal Booking will be done through IRCTC and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) account. This will verify your identity and enable you to make secure travel bookings.

How to link Aadhaar number with IRCTC account ?

| 2. Log in to your IRCTC account, create your username and password, and log in. |
| 3. Click on 'My Account' in the My Profile section and select "Aadhaar KYC" on the same page. |
| 4. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and click "Send OTP". |
| 5. An OTP will be sent to the "Mobile Number" linked to your Aadhaar number. Enter that OTP and click Verify. |
| 6. Aadhaar will be displayed in your account as KYC Verified. |
