Out of these, 60.50 crore people have linked their Aadhaar number with their PAN card . It has been revealed that the remaining 14.17 crore people have not linked their Aadhaar number with their PAN card. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has announced that Aadhaar number will be mandatory for new PAN card / e aadhar card download applicants from July 1. As of June 2025, applicants will be eligible to get a new PAN card if they have a birth certificate , name, or other identity proof. The central government has announced that Aadhaar number verification will be included in PAN card applications from July next month on the Income Tax Department website.
